The Experience
★ Core Simulation
Run a real-time simulated game using Nixa LIVE's vMix broadcast setup and comms systems. Students rotate through Director, TD, Graphics, Replay, Camera, and Announcing roles.
Station 1
Hands-on camera training with fast-paced drills: Find → Frame → Hold, wide vs. tight decision-making, headroom and lead room, smooth pans and tilts.
Station 2
Watch real broadcast clips and give professional feedback using the Timestamp + What You Noticed + Impact + Fix framework. Compiled results returned to each school.
Station 3
Two tracks to choose from: practice broadcast announcing (opens, replay calls, sponsor reads) or build broadcast-ready Canva graphics (lower thirds, lineup cards, social graphics).
Station 4
Learn from current and former industry professionals. What to expect in college or how to prepare for a career either in broadcasting or another industry.

Questions
The workshop is limited to 100 students total across all schools. Each school can bring up to 10 students at the base price, with additional students at $50 each. Groups are organized into rotation teams on-site.
Not at all. The workshop is designed for all levels — from complete beginners to experienced broadcasters. Stations are structured to meet students where they are.
This workshop is ideal for schools exploring whether to start a program. You'll see what's possible, get the resources to begin building, and leave with a ready-to-implement teacher resource packet.
Yes — lunch is included for all students and teachers.
Teachers are welcome to observe all stations. During lunch, teachers have a dedicated 25-minute roundtable discussion separate from students to talk program building.
The focus is live sports broadcasting, but every skill taught — camera ops, switching, graphics, announcing, crew communication — transfers directly to news, events, performances, and any live production.
The Scorecard Lab is about learning, not judgment. All clips are valuable for peer learning. If you do not have clips to submit, Nixa LIVE archives will be used as backup.
Just a Chromebook or personal device, water bottle, and notebook. All production equipment is provided on-site.
Doors open at 8:00 AM for check-in. Teachers are welcome to stay after 3:15 PM for informal conversation and continued networking.
Early registration ends March 1, 2026 — only 100 student spots available.
