Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How many students can we bring?

The workshop is limited to 100 students total across all schools. Each school can bring up to 10 students at the base price, with additional students at $50 each. Groups are organized into rotation teams on-site.

Do students need prior broadcast experience?

Not at all. The workshop is designed for all levels — from complete beginners to experienced broadcasters. Stations are structured to meet students where they are.

What if we don't have a broadcast program yet?

This workshop is ideal for schools exploring whether to start a program. You'll see what's possible, get the resources to begin building, and leave with a ready-to-implement teacher resource packet.

Will lunch be provided?

Yes — lunch is included for all students and teachers.

Can teachers participate in the rotations?

Teachers are welcome to observe all stations. During lunch, teachers have a dedicated 25-minute roundtable discussion separate from students to talk program building.

Is this only for sports broadcasting?

The focus is live sports broadcasting, but every skill taught — camera ops, switching, graphics, announcing, crew communication — transfers directly to news, events, performances, and any live production.

What if our broadcast clip is not good enough?

The Scorecard Lab is about learning, not judgment. All clips are valuable for peer learning. If you do not have clips to submit, Nixa LIVE archives will be used as backup.

What equipment do students need to bring?

Just a Chromebook or personal device, water bottle, and notebook. All production equipment is provided on-site.

Can we arrive early or stay late?

Doors open at 8:00 AM for check-in. Teachers are welcome to stay after 3:15 PM for informal conversation and continued networking.

Spots Are Limited. Don't Wait.

Early registration ends March 1, 2026 — only 100 student spots available.
